The 3rd Saudi-Japan Bilateral Symposium Hosted by Aramco and the University of Tokyo

The Mohammed bin Salman Center for Future Science and Technology (MbSC2030) at the University of Tokyo, in collaboration with Aramco, successfully held the 3rd Japan–Saudi Arabia Bilateral Symposium under the theme “Co-Creating AI’s Future: Japan & Saudi Arabia from Research to Implementation.”

Keynote Speakers (protocol order): H.E. Dr. Ghazi Binzagr (Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Japan), Mr. Ahmad Al Khowaiter (Executive Vice President, Technology and Innovation, Aramco), Dr. Yazeed Abdulmalek Al-Sheikh (Vice President for Graduate Studies & Scientific Research, King Saud University), and Prof. Yutaka Matsuo (Professor, Graduate School of Engineering, Department of Technology Management for Innovation, The University of Tokyo).

The hybrid-format event gathered over 200 participants onsite and online, serving as a platform for productive discussions on AI, innovation, and sustainable collaboration between Japan and Saudi Arabia.

During the symposium, the University of Tokyo and Aramco announced the signing of a comprehensive cooperation agreement (MOU), establishing a framework to promote joint research and academic exchange of researchers and students in advanced science and technology fields. The MOU paves the way for partnerships in the fields of AI, quantum computing, robotics and several other fields
